The Tailgate Ajar warning bulb is the lone addition to the 2024 Ram 2500. Along with notable optional equipment including a digital instrument cluster, digital rearview mirror, trailer reverse steering control, and a Mopar performance hood, last year's revisions added a Rebel off-road variant and the Trailer Tow app.

Engines and Transmissions Options

Ram provides two different powerplant options for its heavy-duty trucks. The base gas engine, a 6.4-litre V-8 with 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque coupled to an eight-speed automatic transmission, is available to buyers, or they may choose the diesel. Despite producing a massive 850 lb-ft of torque and 370 horsepower, the oil burner's 6.7-liter turbodiesel inline-six is sadly mated to an antiquated six-speed automatic transmission.

Towing and Payload Capabilities

If you are looking for the highest possible payload, the gas truck is the better choice because its maximum capacity is 4,010 pounds, which is approximately 900 pounds more than similar diesel versions. For gas 2500s, the maximum towing capability is 17,740 pounds.

Choose diesel if you need to be able to transport more but payload isn't as important. The maximum payload capacity of 3,150 pounds is significantly higher than the maximum towing capacity. With the 6-foot 4-inch box, an RWD Crew Cab Tradesman can tow 20,000 pounds.

Interior

Although it seems much larger inside, the Ram is somewhat smaller than two of its closest rivals. Similarly, compared to the short- and long-bed choices of the Ram's competitors, the load capacity of the 6-foot 4-inch, and 8-foot bed variants is lower.
